We have been inspired by the enormous efforts of school staff and we want to make sure that we’re doing all we can to support you and your schools at this trying time.

We know that school leadership is more important now than ever before. That’s why we’ve decided to go ahead with summer term National Professional Qualifications for Headship (NPQH) and Executive Leadership (NPQEL) programmes as we planned, but to do things a little differently. We want to make sure that existing and aspiring leaders still have the opportunity to develop their skills so they are prepared for whatever the future holds.

We’re responding flexibly to the pressures schools are facing, that’s why we’ve slimmed down the application form to make it less time-consuming. We’ll be introducing new ways to connect with our participants by utilising digital solutions to run online induction sessions. Participants will have access to remote coaching and online project support, to guide them through the planning stage. Then, when it is safe to do so, our expert school leaders will begin delivering face-to-face training. We know that September is always a busy time and this year is likely to bring different challenges. That’s why we’ve decided that we won’t be running any sessions in September during school hours to protect staff time and wellbeing.
