The Schools’ Minister, Nick Gibb, has today praised Star Institute in a speech to The Key, an information service for school leaders.

In the speech, Mr Gibb explained how government reforms are supporting headteachers and helping school leaders.  He outlined how new qualifications are being used in schools and academy trusts, to help train the next generation of headteachers and leaders, reserving special recognition for Star:

“The National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) are now delivered by schools and other providers, allowing aspirant heads to train on the ground with serving headteachers. Some of our leading teaching schools and MATs have embraced this opportunity to create new leadership development organisations, such as Inspiring Leaders, Star Institute and Cabot Learning Federation.”

The Institute has played a key role in delivering the NPQ, training dozens of future leaders to deliver the high quality education that is the hallmark of the organisation.

Hamid Patel CBE, Chief Executive:

“We’re delighted the Schools’ Minister has recognised our contribution to the initiative.  We are fully committed to sharing our expertise with as many teachers as possible, so children across the North West and the rest of the UK can enjoy the very best education.”
