Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

The inspection of an ITE partnership provides an independent external evaluation of its effectiveness and a diagnosis of what it should do to improve. It is based on the range of evidence available to inspectors, which they evaluate against a national framework.


Star Teachers is a school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) partnership was established in September 2017. The partnership had its first inspection by Ofsted during a two-stage process in June and October 2019 and was judged as ‘outstanding’ in all areas and therefore ‘outstanding’ overall.
