We’re looking for consultants…

Star Institute is the learning and development centre for Star Academies, one of the UK’s leading education providers.  Established to support and promote the improvement of schools nationally and beyond, we aim to build a world-class education workforce.  Star Institute is designated as a National Teaching School, licensed by DfE to deliver the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) for leadership and an accredited provider of Initial Teacher Training.  Our partner-led model ensures our programmes are tailored to the meet the needs, ideas and aspirations of the local school communities we serve.

To support us in the delivery of our high quality leadership and teacher development programmes and activities, we’re looking for consultants.  The range of activities includes programme facilitation, leadership coaching (mostly remote), NPQ assessment and content writing.  Many of our consultants fulfil more than one of these roles but previous experience of each activity is essential.  Apart from facilitation (where we are keen to find individuals who can work in the North West, West Yorkshire, West Midlands and London) consultants can be located anywhere in the country although must be willing to attend occasional training or meetings at Star Central in Blackburn or at one of our regional hubs.

The ideal candidates will have a strong and varied track record of senior leadership in ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ school settings.  Broader experience in school to school support would be a benefit.  Applications from recently retired headteachers or senior leaders would be welcome as would applications from serving school leaders with the capacity to provide a minimum of 5 days per year.  The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday, 14 July and successful applicants will be asked to attend an assessment day towards the end of July.
